REGRAS DE INTERPRETAÇÃO
“Aqueles que estão unidos na proclamação da terceira mensagem angelica estão procurando
as escrituras sobre o mesmo plano que o Pai Miller adotou. No pequeno livro intitulado Visões das
Profecias e Cronologias Proféticas, o Pai Miller da as seguintes simples mas inteligentes e importantes
regras para estudo da Bíblia e interpretação:
' 1. Cada palavra tem que ter sua correta conexão no tópico apresentado na Bíblia; 2. Toda escritura
e necessária, e deve ser entendida por diligente estudo e aplicação; 3. Nada revelado na escritura deve ou
sera escondida daqueles que pendem com fé, sem indecisão; 4. Para entender doutrina, traga toda a
escritura junta no contexto que você deseja saber. Então, deixe cada palavra ter sua própria influencia; e se
você puder formar sua teoria sem nenhuma contradição você não estará em erro; 5. A Escritura tem que se
explicar por si propiá, no qual e uma regra de si mesma. Se eu dependo de um Professor para explicar a
mim, ele irar adivinhar seu significado ou desejar de estar de acordo com sua crença religiosa ou pensar ser
sábio, então sua predição, desejo, crença ou sabedoria e minha regra, e não a da Bíblia.
“Acima temos uma porcão destas regras, e em nosso estudo da Bíblia nos todos deveríamos prestar
muito bem atenção nestes princípios apresentados.”
“Fé genuína é fundada sobre as Escrituras. Mas Satanás usa vários meios para destorcer as
Escrituras e traze-la em erro, grande cuidado é necessário para você saber o que eles realmente ensinam. E
um dos grandes enganos deste tempo é delongar-se muito sobre sentimentalismo e reivindicar honestidade,
enquanto ignorando as claras afirmações da Palavra de Deus porque aquela palavra não coincide com o
sentimento. Muitos não têm uma fundação para sua fé mas somente emoção. Sua religião consiste em
excitação, quando isso cessa, sua fé some. Sentimentalismo pode ser palha, mas a palavra de Deus é trigo.
E "o quê" diz o profeta, "que tem a palha com o trigo?"
“Ninguém será condenado por não ter dado atenção a luz e conhecimento que eles nunca tiveram, e
que eles não poderiam obter. Mas muitos se recusam a obedecer a verdade que lhes é apresentada pelos
embaixadores de Cristo, porque querem estar em conformidade com o padrão do mundo; e a verdade que
atingiu-lhes o entendimento, a luz que brilhou na alma, vai condená-los no Julgamento. Nestes últimos dias
temos luz acumulada que tem brilhado por todas as gerações, e nos seremos responsáveis
proporcionalmente. O caminho da santidade não está no nível com o mundo, esta um caminho acima. Se
caminharmos neste sentido, se nós corrermos no caminho dos mandamentos do Senhor, veremos que 'a
vereda dos justos é como a luz da aurora, que vai brilhando mais e mais até ser dia perfeito.'” Review

Em estudar a Bíblia, Eu descobri as seguintes regras a serem de grande utilidade para mi mesmo, e
agora dou elas ao publico por requisitos especiais. Cada regra deve ser estudada, in conexão com as
referencias bíblicas, se o estudante da Bíblia for beneficiado por todas elas.
REGRA 1
Cada palavra tem que ter sua correta conexão no tópico apresentado na Bíblia.
·PROVA: Mateus 5:18.
REGRA 2
Toda Escritura e necessária e deve de ser entendida por um diligente estudo e aplicação.
· PROVA: 2 Timóteo 3:15-17.
REGRA 3
Nada revelado na escritura deve ou sera escondida daqueles que pendem com fé, sem indecisão.
·PROVA: Deuteronômios 29:29. Mateus 10:26-27. 1 Coríntios 2:10. Filipenses 3:15. Isaías 45:11.
Mateus 21:22. João 14:13-14. 15:7. Tiago 1:5-6. 1 .
REGRA 4
Para entender doutrina, traga toda a escritura junta no contexto que você deseja saber. Então, deixe
cada palavra ter sua própria influencia; e se você puder formar sua teoria sem nenhuma contradição você
não estará em erro.
·PROVA: Isaías 28:7-29. Isaías 35:8. Provérbios 19:27. Lucas 24:27, 44-45. Romanos 16:26.
Tiago 5:19. 2 Pedro 1:19,20.
REGRA 5
A Escritura tem que se explicar por si propiá, no qual e uma regra de si mesma. Se eu dependo de
um Professor para explicar a mim, ele irar adivinhar seu significado ou desejar de estar de acordo com sua
crença religiosa ou pensar ser sábio, então sua predição, desejo, crença ou sabedoria e minha regra, e não a
da Bíblia.
· PROVA: Salmos 19:7-11. Salmos 119:97-105. Mateus 23:8-10. 1 Corintios 2:12-16. Ezequiel
34:18-19. Lucas 11:52. Malaquias 2:7-8.
REGRA 6
Deus tem revelado coisas que ão de vir, por visões, em figuras e parábolas, em neste caso as
mesmas coisas são varias vez reveladas de novo e de novo, por diferentes visões ou em diferentes figuras e
parábolas. Se você deseja entender elas, você tem que juntar todas elas em uma só.
·PROVA: Salmos 89:19. Oséas 12:10. Habacuque 2:2. Atos 2:17. 1 Corintios 10:6. Hebreus
9:9,24. Salmos 78:2. Mateus 13:13,34. Gênesis 41:1-32. Daniel 2, 7, 8. Atos 10:9-16.
REGRA 7
Visões são sempre mencionadas como.
·PROVA: 2 Corintios 12:1.
REGRA 8
Figuras sempre tem um significado figurativo e é usado muito em profecia para representar coisas
futuras, tempos e eventos; como montanha significando governos; bestas significando Reinos; agua
significando povos; lampada significando Palavra de Deus, dia significando ano,
PROVA: Daniel 2:35,44. 7:8,17. Apocalipse 17:1,15. Salmos 119:105. Ezequiel 4:6
REGRA 9
Parábolas são usadas como comparação para ilustrar um tópico, e tem que ser explicada da mesma
forma como as figuras pelo tópico e Bíblia.
PROVA: Marcos 4:13
REGRA 10
As figuras as vezes possuem dois ou mais significados como por exemplo Dia e usado no figurativo
para representar trés diferentes períodos de tempo.
PROVA: Eclesiastes 7:14
1. Indefinido.
2. Definido, um dia igual a um ano.
3. Dia igual a mil anos.
Se você fizer uma correta estrutura da frase obterá harmonização com a Bíblia e fara sentido, se
não, não fara sentido.
PROVA: Ezequiel 4:6. 2 Pedro 3:8
REGRA 11
Como saber quando a palavra foi usada no figurativo. Se fizer sentido como ela esta na frase, e não
agride as simples leis da natureza, então devera ser entendida literalmente, se não, no figurativo.
PROVA: Apocalipse 12:1-2; 17:3-7.
REGRA 12
Para aprender o verdadeiro significado de alguma figura, procure a palavra pela Bíblia, e quando
você a achar explicada ponha-a na sua figura. Se fizer sentido você não precisa ir a alem, se não, procure
de novo.
REGRA 13
Para saber se você tem o verdadeiro evento histórico para o cumprimento da profecia. Se você
achar que cada palavrada da profecia (depois que as figuras foram entendidas) estão literalmente
cumpridas você saberá que a sua historia e um evento verdadeiro. Mas se uma palavra não parece que foi
cumprida devera procurar por outro evento ou espere pelo seu cumprimento. Porque Deus tome conta
disto, a profecia e a historia devem estar de acordo para que as verdadeiras crianças crédulas de Deus
possam nunca ser envergonhadas.
PROVA: Salmos 22:5. Isaías 45:17, 18, 19. 1Pedro 2:6. Apocalipse 17:17. Atos 3:18.
REGRA 14
De todas as regras a mais importante e que você deve ter fé. Devera ser uma fé que requira
sacrifício, e se tentada, desistiria do mais amado objeto na terra, o mundo e seus desejos, caráter, moradia,
ocupação, amigos, lar, conforto e honras do mundo. Se qualquer destas coisas puder impedir nossa cresça
em alguma parte da palavra de Deus isto mostrara que nossa fé e em vão. E nunca iremos crer por muito
tempo se um desses motivos estiver escondido em nossos corações. Nós devemos acreditar que Deus
nunca omitira sua palavra. E podemos ter confiança de que aquele que toma conhecimento do pardal, e
sabe os números dos fios em sua cabeça, guardara a interpretação de sua propiá palavra, e colocara uma
barreira ao redor e protege aqueles que sinceramente acreditam em Deus, e colocara implícita confiança na
sua palavra, levando o erro ficar longe da verdade ainda que eles não entendam Hebraico ou Grego.
Estas são as mais importantes regras a qual eu achei na palavra de Deus que me autorizaram a
adotar e seguir sistematicamente e com regularidade. E se eu não estiver iludido grandemente, eu tenho
achado a bíblia, como um todo, um dos mais simples, claros e inteligíveis livros já escritos contendo em si
próprio a prova que possui origem divina e cheia de todo conhecimento que nosso coração pode desejar
apreciar e conhecer. Eu tenho achado nela um tesouro a qual o mundo não pode comprar. Ela traz um
conhecimento que traz calma paz e uma firme esperança no futuro. Isto sustem a mente na adversidade e
nos ensina a sermos humildes e prósperos. Isto nos prepara a amar e fazer coisas boas para outros e nos
acorda para o valor de uma alma. Nos faz corajosos e valentes para a verdade, dá nervos ao braço para
opor o erro. Nos da um poderoso armamento para quebrar a infidelidade e nos faz identificar o único
antidoto para o pecado. Nos instruem como a morte vai ser conquistada e como as amarras da tumba serão
quebradas. Nos diz os futuros eventos, e nos mostra a preparação necessária para depararmos com eles.
Nos da a oportunidade de manter o dialogo com o Rei dos Reis e revela um dos maiores códigos de leis já
aprovadas.
Mas esta e uma visão fraca de seu valor; ainda quantas almas perecedoras tratam isto com
negligencia, ou tão ruim como, tratam a como um mistério escondido a qual não pode ser revelado. Oh
meu querido leitor, faça-a o seu principal estudo. Teste-a bem e você vai encontra-la a ser tudo o que eu
tenho dito. Sim, como a Rainha de Sabá, você falara que a metade não foi dito a você.
A divindade ensinada em nossas escolas e sempre fundada em algum credo sectário. E pode pegar
uma mente em branco e impressiona-la, mas sempre terminará em intolerância. Uma mente livre nunca
sera satisfeita com visões de outras pessoas. Se eu fosse um professor de jovem em divindade, eu primeiro
aprenderia seus conhecimentos e suas capacidades. Se estes fossem bons, eu os faria estudarem a bíblia por
si mesmos, e enviaria-os livres para fazer bem ao mundo. Mas se eles não tivessem mente eu carimbo neles
a mente de outros, escreveria intolerante em suas testas e os enviaria como escravos. - Miller’s Work Vol 1,

THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE CHAIN OF TRUTH

Many who embraced the third message had not had an experience in the two former messages. Satan understood this, and his evil eye was upon them to overthrow them; but the third angel was pointing them to the most holy place, and those who had had an experience in the past messages were pointing them the way to the heavenly sanctuary. Many saw the perfect chain of truth in the angels' messages, and gladly received them in their order, and followed Jesus by faith into the heavenly sanctuary. These messages were represented to me as an anchor to the people of God. Those who understand and receive them will be kept from being swept away by the many delusions of Satan. {EW 256.2}

“Ministers who would not accept this saving message themselves hindered those who would have received it. The blood of souls is upon them. Preachers and people joined to oppose this message from heaven and to persecute William Miller and those who united with him in the work. Falsehoods were circulated to injure his influence; and at different times after he had plainly declared the counsel of God, applying cutting truths to the hearts of his hearers, great rage was kindled against him, and as he left the place of meeting, some waylaid him in order to take his life. But angels of God were sent to protect him, and they led him safely away from the angry mob. His work was not yet finished.” Early Writings, 235.

THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE CHAIN OF TRUTH

“God sent His angel to move upon the heart of a farmer who had not believed the Bible, to lead him to search the prophecies. Angels of God repeatedly visited that chosen one, to guide his mind and open to his understanding prophecies which had ever been dark to God’s people. The commencement of the chain of truth was given to him, and he was led on to search for link after link, until he looked with wonder and admiration upon the Word of God. He saw there a perfect chain of truth. That Word which he had regarded as uninspired now opened before his vision in its beauty and glory. He saw that one portion of Scripture explains another, and when one passage was closed to his understanding, he found in another part of the Word that which explained it. He regarded the sacred Word of God with joy and with the deepest respect and awe.
“As he followed down the prophecies, he saw that the inhabitants of the earth were living in the closing scenes of this world’s history, yet they knew it not. He looked at the churches and saw that they were corrupt; they had taken their affections from Jesus and placed them on the world; they were seeking for worldly honor, instead of that honor which cometh from above; grasping for worldly riches, instead of laying up their treasure in heaven. He could see hypocrisy, darkness, and death everywhere. His spirit was stirred within him. God called him to leave his farm, as He called Elisha to leave his oxen and the field of his labor to follow Elijah. With trembling, William Miller began to unfold to the people the mysteries of the kingdom of God, carrying his hearers down through the prophecies to the second advent of Christ. With every effort he gained strength. As John the Baptist heralded the first advent of Jesus and prepared the way for His coming, so William Miller and those who joined with him proclaimed the second advent of the Son of God.


“I was carried back to the days of the disciples and was shown that God had a special work for the beloved John to accomplish. Satan was determined to hinder this work, and he led on his servants to destroy John. But God sent His angel and wonderfully preserved him. All who witnessed the great power of God manifested in the deliverance of John were astonished, and many were convinced that God was with him, and that the testimony which he bore concerning Jesus was correct. Those who sought to destroy him were afraid to attempt again to take his life, and he was permitted to suffer on for Jesus. He was falsely accused by his enemies and was shortly banished to a lonely island, where the Lord sent His angel to reveal to him events which were to take place upon the earth and the state of the church down to the end—her backslidings and the position which she should occupy if she would please God and finally overcome.


“The angel from heaven came to John in majesty, his countenance beaming with the excellent glory of God. He revealed to John scenes of deep and thrilling interest in the history of the church of God and brought before him the perilous conflicts which Christ’s followers were to endure. John saw them passing through fiery trials, made white and tried, and, finally, victorious overcomers, gloriously saved in the kingdom of God. The countenance of the angel grew radiant with joy and was exceeding glorious, as he showed John the final triumph of the church of God.
As the apostle beheld the final deliverance of the church, he was carried away with the glory of the scene and with deep reverence and awe fell at the feet of the angel to worship him. The heavenly messenger instantly raised him up and gently reproved him, saying, ‘See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ The angel then showed John the heavenly city with all its splendor and dazzling glory, and he, enraptured and overwhelmed, and forgetful of the former reproof of the angel, again fell to worship at his feet. Again the gentle reproof was given, ‘See thou do it not for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.’

“Preachers and people have looked upon the book of Revelation as mysterious and of less importance than other portions of the Sacred Scriptures. But I saw that this book is indeed a revelation given for the especial benefit of those who should live in the last days, to guide them in ascertaining their true position and their duty. God directed the mind of William Miller to the prophecies and gave him great light upon the book of Revelation.

“If Daniel’s visions had been understood, the people could better have understood the visions of John. But at the right time, God moved upon His chosen servant, who, with clearness and in the power of the Holy Spirit, opened the prophecies and showed the harmony of the visions of Daniel and John and other portions of the Bible, and pressed home upon the hearts of the people the sacred, fearful warnings of the Word to prepare for the coming of the Son of man. Deep and solemn conviction rested upon the minds of those who heard him, and ministers and people, sinners and infidels, turned to the Lord and sought a preparation to stand in the judgment.

“Angels of God accompanied William Miller in his mission. He was firm and undaunted, fearlessly proclaiming the message committed to his trust. A world lying in wickedness and a cold, worldly church were enough to call into action all his energies and lead him willingly to endure toil, privation, and suffering. Although opposed by professed Christians and the world, and buffeted by Satan and his angels, he ceased not to preach the everlasting gospel to crowds wherever he was invited, sounding far and near the cry, ‘Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come.’” Early Writings, 229–232.


The Commencement of the Chain of Truth

“From a farther study of the Scriptures, I concluded that the seven times of Gentile supremacy must commence when the Jews ceased to be an independent nation at the captivity of Manasseh, which the best chronologers assigned to B. C. 677; that the 2300 days commenced with the seventy weeks, which the best chronologers dated from B. C. 457; and that the 1335 days commencing with the taking away of the daily, and the setting up of the abomination that maketh desolate, [Daniel 12:11] were to be dated from the setting up of the Papal supremacy, after the taking away of Pagan abominations, and which, according to the best historians I could consult, should be dated from about A. D. 508. Reckoning all these prophetic periods from the several dates assigned by the best chronologers for the events from which they should evidently be reckoned, they all would terminate together, about A. D. 1843. I was thus brought, in 1818, at the close of my two years study of the Scriptures, to the solemn conclusion, that in about twenty-five years from that time all the affairs of our present state would be wound up . . .”   Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, April 18, 1854.


His Angel

“The words of the angel, ‘I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God,’ show that he holds a position of high honor in the heavenly courts. When he came with a message to Daniel, he said, ‘There is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael [Christ] your Prince.’ Daniel 10:21. Of Gabriel the Saviour speaks in the Revelation, saying that ‘He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John.’ Revelation 1:1. And to John the angel declared, ‘I am a fellow servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets.’ Revelation 22:9, R. V. Wonderful thought—that the angel who stands next in honor to the Son of God is the one chosen to open the purposes of God to sinful men.” The Desire of Ages, 99.
